What "free forever" actually means
A lot of expense-splitting apps market a free plan that turns out to be a demo: a cap of a few expenses a day, ads between screens, and the features you actually need locked behind a subscription. SuperSplit's free plan is the real thing. Track unlimited expenses in unlimited groups, split equally, by shares, by exact amounts or by percentage, work across 150+ currencies with live rates, and share view-only group links people can open without installing anything.
There's no ad anywhere in the app, and there's no daily limit designed to nudge you toward the paid tier. If you never pay us a cent, the app stays fully useful for splitting rent, trips, dinners and everything in between.
What Premium adds
Premium exists for people who run a lot of groups or want a record of everything. It adds receipt scanning (snap the bill, attach it to the expense, no disputes later), spending charts and insights across your groups, recurring expenses like rent and subscriptions, and unlimited history with CSV export — handy at tax time or for settling a long house share. Premium subscribers also get priority support.
It costs $29.99 per year with a 7-day free trial, or $99.99 once if you'd rather own it outright — no subscription, no renewals, the same features for as long as the app exists. We think subscription fatigue is real, so the lifetime option isn't a decoy: it's the one many of our users pick.
How the free plan compares to Splitwise
Splitwise's free tier caps how many expenses you can log per day and shows video ads. Ours doesn't. Here's the honest side-by-side from our comparison on the homepage:
| Free plan | SuperSplit | Splitwise |
|---|---|---|
| Unlimited expenses per day | Yes | 3 / day |
| Ad-free | Always | Video ads |
| Smart settle-up (fewest payments) | Yes | Limited |
| View a group without the app | Yes | No |
| Multi-currency | Yes | Pro |
| One-time lifetime option | Yes | Subscription only |

Billing questions
Can I use SuperSplit without ever paying?
Yes. The free plan isn't a trial — it has no time limit, no daily expense cap and no ads. Many of our users never upgrade.
How do I buy the lifetime plan instead of the subscription?
Both options are shown when you upgrade in the app: $29.99/year or $99.99 once. Pick the lifetime pass at checkout and you'll never be billed again.
How do I cancel Premium?
Subscriptions are managed by the App Store or Google Play. You can cancel anytime from your phone's subscription settings — you keep Premium until the end of the paid period. Full details in the app's Settings.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — Premium starts with a 7-day free trial. You get the full feature set immediately, and you're only charged if you stay past day seven.
